Two minor sisters died after allegedly being bitten by a snake in Manma Barmari village of Kalakote subdivision in Rajouri district on Sunday, officials said.
The two girls were immediately rushed to a hospital for treatment following the incident.
However, despite medical efforts, both succumbed to the snakebite, officials added.
The deceased were identified as five-year-old Amiba and her three-year-old sister Amiza, both residents of Manma Barmari village in Rajouri district.
Meanwhile, officials said that necessary proceedings have been initiated and further investigation into the incident is underway.
