JAMMU/RAJOURI : Rajouri Police Foil Five Bovine Smuggling Attempts, Rescue 35 Bovine Animals, Six Arrested, Three Vehicles Seized Five F

Continuing its sustained drive against illegal bovine smuggling Rajouri Police under the overall supervision of SSP Rajouri Mr. Naresh Singh JKPS rescued 35 bovine animals in five separate incidents at Badhal Pulli and Loorkote Chingus and registered five FIRs under relevant provisions of the law.

During naka checking Police intercepted persons and vehicles involved in transporting bovine animals without the requisite prior permission of the District Magistrate Rajouri.

The details are as follows: FIR No. 136/2026: Four bovine animals were rescued from Tata Mobile bearing registration JK11B-8596 being driven by Shaid Iqbal S/o Mohd Shafi R/o Rehan along with Mohd Yaseen S/o Jamal Din R/o Hubbi Tehsil Kotranka District Rajouri while proceeding from Larkoti towards Kashmir Valley.

FIR No. 137/2026: Eight bovine animals were rescued from Tata Mobile bearing registration JK11E-5784 being driven by Mohd Shabir S/o Alam Din R/o Hubbi along with Mohd Younis S/o Mohd Shafi R/o Hubbi Kotranka District Rajouri while proceeding from Larkoti towards Kashmir Valley. FIR No. 138/2026: Five bovine animals were rescued from the possession of Qasim Din S/o Jaan Mohd R/o Hubbi Tehsil Kotranka District Rajouri.FIR No.

139/2026: Five bovine animals were rescued from the possession of Mohd Shafiq S/o Kala Khan R/o Hubbi Kotranka District Rajouri. FIR No. 490/2026: At Loorkote Police intercepted a vehicle bearing registration JK20B-3379 and rescued 13 bovine animals being transported without the requisite permission of the District Magistrate, Rajouri.

A case has been registered at Police Station Rajouri under relevant sections of law.

Further investigation is underway to ascertain the complete circumstances of the illegal transportation and identify other persons involved.

Rajouri Police reiterates its commitment to strict enforcement of law and taking legal action against illegal bovine transportation.
